Circular Panel Knotwork
sketchfab
Carved between 1997 and 2014, this intricately hand-carved Celtic circular knotwork panel draws inspiration from an illuminated manuscript design found within the renowned Book of Kells. The project began in 1997, marking my first foray into decorative stone-carving after Barry Grove introduced me to its fundamental principles while I volunteered as a student for the University of York's Tarbat Discovery Program archaeological training dig in Portmahomack. This model is admittedly rough and imperfect, with centering that falls short of excellence and details that lack refinement.
