Circular Loom Generator
thingiverse
This was inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13316 & https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2105183, but it wasn't listed as a remix because the code was completely rewritten from scratch to avoid mesh errors and simplify sine and cosine calculations. The other versions could take up to 6 minutes or more to render if multiple parameters were changed at once, whereas this version averages 1.5 minutes or less since math operations are simplified. Some division calculations were moved outside loops so they're only done once. A major issue was the side post printing with a knob, causing the bottom to be no longer flat and requiring support. In this version, the side post always prints without a knob. Additionally, posts are rounded on both ends even when printed without knobs by using a hull of two spheres. To ensure the slot scales with the post and maintains constant depth except at each end, a hull of two rotated cylinders was used.
