Circular Lego piece

This Lego part functions fairly well in its intended role. The upper nubs securely attach, and the central plus-hole provides a decent grip, albeit somewhat loose. However, the bottom protrusions are positioned incorrectly, preventing them from effectively grasping more than one nub on adjacent Lego pieces. This flawed design was created for my engineering class.
