Circular Elements

Create circular PCBs with snap-together sockets, perfect for prototyping on diverse surfaces and polyhedra. Compatible with Radioshack's circular protoboard and some Sparkfun boards like Lilypad. Follow these steps to build a circuit-board buckyball: choose your preferred prototyping board style; estimate the largest circle diameter for hexagons and pentagons (45mm for hexagons, 32mm for pentagons); add a buffer of around 7mm; find hollow drill bits with an inner diameter slightly larger than your chosen diameters; use these bits to drill through a wooden guide; drill out circular prototyping boards - 12 pentagon-sized and 20 hexagon-sized; measure actual board diameters, then use the script to generate appropriate pieces, possibly adjusting bracket size for accuracy; print test brackets, followed by printing 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons to assemble your buckyball prototyping surface.
