Circuit Board Slide Top Box
thingiverse
This is a parametric OpenSCAD model for a 3D printed box that utilizes a recycled circuit board as a sliding top. The STL files are custom models I created using the SCAD project. Unless you're designing them to fit the same board I used, you'll need to adjust the variables and export new models for printing purposes. I recommend adding between 0.1 mm and 0.3 mm to ensure smooth movement without excessive friction. If it's too loose, simply apply a small piece of electrical tape along the edge of the board, and it will function properly. Definitely use "everywhere" supports so that the slide area remains clean. I obtained the scrap circuit boards from Sparkfun's "ding and dent" page (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15759). Perhaps rafts from previous prints could be a viable alternative. I documented this project on my website at smolderingdiode.com.
