A circlip, alternatively called C-Clip, snap ring, or Jesus clip, is a flexible metal ring with open ends that fit into machined grooves on dowel pins or other components. It allows rotation while preventing lateral movement. This fastener comes in two types: internal and external depending on whether it's fitted inside a bore or over a shaft. Circlips are commonly used to secure pinned connections.
