The Sony 85mm f1.8 (SEL85F18) lens stands out as a budget-friendly option that delivers exceptional performance. Its fast and accurate autofocus capabilities make it an excellent choice for still image shooting, utilizing the internal focusing system to its full potential. I was drawn to using this lens for video due to its convenient AF/MF switch located on the side, allowing for seamless transitions between focus modes. The large focus ring also enables precise manual focus control. To further enhance its usability with follow focus systems, I experimented with improving the focus gear, and it proved to be an excellent decision, especially when working in harsh environments.
