Cinedeck ZX Road Case

Rolling road case for Cinedeck ZX ingest servers. The case style was originally designed for now-ancient DigiBeta decks. Those decks fit sideways in the case, so the weight of the unit rested its frame, rather than the delicate connectors on the rear end. Since the ZX can only fit vertically, I added flanges to the inside of the case. These were made from 1/8" aluminum sheets with gussets welded on both ends. Riveted to the case body, they take the weight of the ZX when the case is upright, functioning like rack rails, as they support the ears. Some new foam, a fresh set of wheels and these relics have a new lease on life.
