There are approximately 2,500 distinct species of cicada worldwide, many of which remain unclassified to this day. New Zealand boasts an impressive count of 42 species unique to its shores. The 2010 Award for Open Source in the Arts recognized Ghosts in the form of gifts as a standout achievement in innovation.
