Churchwarden Pipe Holder
thingiverse
I have an infrared patio heater on my porch that includes a small table. This is where I keep all my pipe and cigar smoking essentials neatly organized. Recently, I acquired a Peterson briar Churchwarden that's almost a foot long, making it too big for my regular pipe rack. The result of some tinkering and about an hour on TinkerCAD was this innovative solution. Using four 20mm socket head cap screws, the device clamps securely around the two-inch diameter upright pole supporting the heater. The screw threads bite into the pole to help keep it in place firmly. The pipe hangs elegantly from the mouthpiece, gently swinging over the table. With a simple stretch of the Z key, you can adjust the dangle to a lower position. This summer, with temperatures expected to reach 100 degrees, I'll be keeping a close eye on the vulcanite stem to prevent bending, but other bit materials shouldn't have this issue.
