Church of Santissima Annunziata - Sulmona - Tactile audio-guide

thingiverse

The model showcases the Complex of the Santissima Annunziata, situated in Sulmona, Italy. Dedicated to the SS. Annunziata, the complex comprises a church and an adjacent palace. Founded in 1320 by the Compenitenti lay brotherhood, church and hospital were built as one entity. The 3D model is divided into six sections for printing on a 20x20cm plate. Two parts form the church facade, while four others combine to create the adjacent building's facade. This is no ordinary 3D replica - it features four tactile sensors printed with conductive filament. By connecting each sensor to an Arduino UNO board and capacitive circuit, users can bring the model to life through touch-sensitive technology. An audio track accompanies each sensor, providing information on the architectural element touched. The four tactile elements are: the main portal, clock door, bell tower, and a double-arched window.
