The bronze statue of the boy Save Petković commemorates a historic event that occurred in 1862 between a young boy and Turkish soldiers. A monument was erected in 1931 to honor this incident, but in 2010, the statue was stolen and broken into 22 pieces before being sold as scrap metal to an unauthorized junkyard. Fortunately, a 3D scan of the statue had been created earlier, allowing for its recreation. The bronze statue is located at a fountain and depicts a boy named Save Petković who was injured by Turkish soldiers on June 15, 1862. The official name of the sculpture is "Boy with Broken Leg." A memorial fountain was built in 1931 using funds from the estate of merchant Tom Vanđel, and it was designed by Serbian academic and sculptor Simeon Roksandić. In May 2010, vandals stole the statue of the boy and used a sledgehammer to break it into 22 pieces before selling it to the owner of an unauthorized junkyard. The sculpture was severely damaged but thanks to a 3D scan created prior to its theft, restoration work could be done on the replica.
