Chuck Twists - 6 piece burr puzzles with a twist
thingiverse
This Edward Nelson's 1897 six-piece Chuck Puzzle receives a rotational twist on each pair, transforming a simple puzzle into a more challenging one. The result of turning all three pairs through 5 degrees creates Stewart Coffin's Grizzly Burr puzzle. To create your unique Chuck Twist puzzle, download the OpenScad file and adjust parameters accordingly. Be cautious when assembling, for tweaking the design may lead to an unsolvable puzzle. Check the key piece positioning in the rendered assembled version. PLA printing with current settings works fine. Alternatively, select pre-generated STL files: Chuck Twist 14-14-14, Chuck Twist 14-10-6, Grizzly Burr, and a simple original puzzle without rotations. Note that the assembled STL file is merely for displaying final pieces, not for printing. Happy puzzling!
