Chrysler Town and Country Stow 'n Go Latch

Chrysler Town and Country Stow 'n Go Latch

One of the stow-n-go latches on my wife's 2005 Town and Country van snapped. I considered purchasing a replacement part but discovered that even the cheapest option was around $30 from an untrustworthy source. To avoid taking that risk or paying twice as much at a dealership, I decided to print a new one myself. Since it wasn't available on Thingiverse, I designed the part from scratch. This is the result. I printed it first in PLA to test its fit and work out any issues. I initially planned to print the final version in ABS but made an attempt with that material first. Unfortunately, the ABS curled up on the overhangs when printed vertically with supports, resulting in a less-than-satisfactory outcome. Although the ABS part functions properly, it looks slightly sloppy. Since it's hidden 99% of the time, this isn't a major concern for me. However, I'm somewhat particular about details. I installed the PLA part and it has been working flawlessly ever since. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Hesine M505 (Prusa i3) Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 25% Notes: Regardless of how you print it, the part will require supports. To prevent breaking, I printed it vertically with the length along the Z axis so that layers would run against the tab on the bottom. If they were aligned along the tab, it might break like the original did.
