Chrysler Building
thingiverse
Starting to feel more confident with my 3D printer, I decided to try printing large objects by dividing them into smaller parts. Previously, I was hesitant due to fear of print failure; but now, I'm feeling ambitious. Discovering the Chrysler Building model on Google 3D Warehouse, I imported it into Netfabb for slicing. The model was 320mm tall, exceeding my printer's max height of 105mm. To avoid failure, I divided the model into four 80mm-tall sections. You can find the individual pieces on my blog, or download the full model if you want to customize your slicing. Don't forget to turn on the cool when printing the spire, and remember to sand and glue the parts together for a seamless finish. Visit http://blog.fox-lee.com/?p=66 for more details.
