The Chrysler Building is a world-renowned Art Deco skyscraper situated in the heart of Manhattan's Turtle Bay area at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 42nd Street on New York City's east side. At an impressive height of 1,046 feet, it held the title of the globe's tallest building for a remarkable 11 months before being surpassed by its neighbor, the Empire State Building in 1931. Notably, despite being constructed with a steel skeleton, this architectural masterpiece remains the world's tallest brick structure to date. Following the devastating collapse of the World Trade Center, it reclaimed the second spot among New York City's skyscrapers until December 2007, when the Bank of America Tower's spire was raised to an astonishing 1,200 feet, relegating the Chrysler Building to third place.
