Place your problem statement here: The problems I had with virtual learning is that the trackpad is hard to use, the keyboard hurts your hands, and it is hard to keep materials organized. I thought of a solution that could solve all of these problems. I will design a 3D printable stand for the Chromebook that makes it easier to type, with an attached mousepad so I don’t have to use the trackpad. There will also be a pencil tray that keeps your supplies organized. This will help your hands not hurt from the hours of typing, let you be faster and more accurate with a mouse, and stay organized. What issues did you come up against? I came upon the issue of size. Most 3D printers are only 5 by 5 and that is not big enough for the design I originally had in mind. I had to adapt my design so that more people would be able to print this design and it would be able to help more people. If you could redesign this again what would you change? If I could redesign this I would use a larger size for my parts. If I could use a 3D printer that was 10 by 10 then the design could be larger and would work better. I would make the stand connected in one part and not separate. How would 3D printing help strengthen your design? 3D printing will help my design because it can be adapted to be used for many different computers. If someone had a larger laptop they could still use my design. If it was molded then there would be only one size that might not fit all.
