Chromebook Strap Connector

By Anthony Solomon and Nova Morgan-PotesEach student has to carry a Chromebook at our school. Many students need to carry their Chromebook separate from their backpack because they don’t have enough space to carry them in bookbags. No one wants their hands full with a lunchbox, Chromebook, and a backpack. There are also some people who only carry their Chromebook with them because some of their classes don’t require schoolwork on paper. The solution that we designed is the Chromebook Strap Connector! On the back of the Chromebook Strap Connector, which is the backplate that goes against your back or your hip, anyone can hold their Chromebooks on a strap. The strap goes through two holes that are cut through the two arms sticking out of the back plate. In addition, the clips, which are part of the strap, goes through the loops on the back plate and hooks on the Chromebook case handles. In between those loops is a small connector that is added to provide extra stability for your Chromebook. The continuous strap will either go around your chest or over your shoulder. Students who only carry their Chromebook would use the Chromebook Strap Connector as an easier and more efficient way to carry their Chromebook. The Chromebook Strap Connector is also compatible with other technology as long as they have a carrying case with handles. For instance, it could carry tablets and other small laptops. This Chromebook Strap is going to be 3D printed using PLA filament. We would 3D print the Chromebook Strap Connector at 65% Infill to keep the model strong enough to hold the weight of a Chromebook. The print would have 5 shells to keep the Chromebook Strap Connector durable.
