Christmastree - luminous

thingiverse

I'm looking to create a Christmas tree that can shine brightly. To achieve this, I built components that allow indirect lighting through transparent parts or 5 mm LEDs inserted through holes. The tree in the pictures demonstrates direct downward light on its upper three sections, while the lower part is transparent with internal LEDs shining within. For illumination, I employed RGB rainbow LEDs connected to resistors via a 5V USB cable. To prepare the green parts for printing, I drilled out 2mm holes using a drill so that filament pieces could be inserted for centering purposes. On the opposing counterparts, I used a soldering iron to melt the filament pieces in place.
