Christmas Tree Star

Christmas Tree Star

I'm reprinting this Star for the second time, following up on last year's DIY printer project with a .5 nozzle that had trouble with thin walls. This year, I've upgraded to a FlashForge Creator Pro with a .4 nozzle and want to see how it turns out. Before printing, I imported my CAD parts to review them and discovered some issues that required a lot of time spent redrawing and making improvements. One key change is the addition of a thin ribbon at the bottom of the 'Point' parts to help keep the part on the printer table without using rafts. The holder has holes for wires to pass through and a 5mm hole to install a fiberglass rod commonly used to support Orchid plants. I find it easier to secure the long rod in the tree lower down. It's looking great, except for the banding appearance, which I address by painting it with clear coat and sprinkling glitter on top. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUOmy86hIQc
