Christmas Tree Star Topper (print in one go w/ incl. supports)
thingiverse
I tried printing a tree topper in two halves, but those I attempted (using PETG) had supports that didn't bond well enough. This model features substantial interference fit supports. It printed fairly well overall. The supports can be cut off with a razor or bent/folded to weaken them and snap them off. There are probably better star tree toppers available, but this one worked for me. The interference was established by examining the layer view in Cura 3.6 with a 0.15mm layer height and a 0.4mm line/nozzle width. I used 0% infill and 1.2mm wall thickness. This STL may not work for you if you have a different size nozzle or use a different slicer. A SketchUp file (.skp) is included if you want to adjust the supports' placement within this model or delete them all together and use your slicer's supports.
