Christmas tree stand helper
thingiverse
Let's face it, those Christmas tree stands with legs, buckets, and three screws can be quite challenging to use. It's tolerable if your tree stump fits snugly into the bucket, but if your stump is too narrow, the bottom of the stump can slip around on the bottom of the bucket, especially after adding water. In that case, you'll have to make those three screws incredibly tight to prevent the tree from moving around. One solution is to place a spike in the bottom of the bucket, pointing upwards, and let the stump of the tree rest on it. This way, the stump can't slide around, and the screws can do a better job of holding the tree upright. However, if your stump is too wide for the bucket and you need to trim it down with whatever tools are available, I'm afraid I won't be able to assist you in that situation. For 3D printing, scale the x and y axes to create a diameter just smaller than your bucket, and adjust the z axis to set the height of the spikes you want. The printing speed isn't crucial, so use whatever settings print the fastest for you. You won't need any support, but a raft can make it easier to remove the printed piece from the bed – even if you don't plan on removing the raft afterward.
