Christmas Tree Advent Calendar
thingiverse
I wanted to create a desktop advent calendar that counts down the days until Christmas without using chocolate. A tree stand is included, where numbered stars are slowly added over time until Christmas Eve, gradually building a 3D Christmas tree. The finished tree stands about 12cm tall and fits perfectly in a large jam jar for next year's reuse. My desk at work will be home to this festive decoration throughout December! WARNING: Some parts of the design are small and sharp, so the print needs to be scaled up and the points on the stars softened with a blow torch before giving them to children. The tree stand and 24-star designs were printed separately, while the remaining stars were printed in four different colors, making them available in sets of four. For convenience, I also included a zip file containing separate STL files for each star. To ensure everything goes smoothly, I've included a complete Christmas tree model as well. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 10% Notes: My advent calendar was printed using Faberdashery colors: Tree stand - Woodland Brown 24-star design - Bling Bling Gold (this file requires a raft) Stars 1-23 - Crystal Clear, Jade Green, Village Green, and Greenery Green After printing, you may want to scale up the design and soften the sharp points of the stars.
