Christmas Stocking Hook

We've installed a beautiful new solid oak mantelpiece in our home. My previous solution for hanging Christmas stockings - attaching hooks to the underside of the old one using screws - was deemed unacceptable by my family members. I designed these hooks to wrap around the shelf without causing any damage. Printed in "wood" PLA to closely match the color and texture of the mantelpiece. To print, I rotated the design in Cura to print it on its side. I used supports to hold up the hook - which was then horizontal - and also applied an adhesion bed because I'm not a fan of sanding my prints afterwards. It made the process much easier for me. Not confident enough in their strength to use them with full weight... The Scad file is provided here - it's not complicated or overly complex, but I imagine the design would need some modifications to fit your specific shelf or mantelpiece perfectly.
