Christmas Skaters Display

myminifactory

Christmas Skate Pond with magnetic skaters, lighted accessories, and Bluetooth music output. I modeled this design based on a Mr. Christmas “Holiday Skaters, Christmas 1890” display that dates to the late 90’s, which are still available on eBay. Also, I had access to a 3D scanner and I had been looking for a project to use it on. I used it to scan the body of the skate pond, the skaters, and the various accessories. I used an FDM printer to print the Base, Base Caps and drive mechanism, and a resin printer for the figures, trees, lamps, and other components on the surface. However all parts can be printed using an FDM printer. The base was way too big for my printer, so I split it into 6 separate parts that are pinned, screwed and gluedtogether. A motor controller is used to control the speed of the skaters, and a speaker and a Bluetooth Audio Amplifier can be used to play holiday music through the base. See the "Christmas Skaters Build Notes" PDF file for detailed instructions on the construction. Some of the STL files exceeded the MyMiniFactor maximum file size limits, so the STL files and the rest of the documentation can be found on any of these sites: thingiverse.com/thing:6332992cults3d.com/en/3d-model/home/christmas-skaters-display-mcmavenprintables.com/model/658575-christmas-skaters-display Also see: youtube.com/watch?v=YH-WKhy5MLI And youtube.com/watch?v=jibVx-dNzwQ Enjoy
