Christmas Rope Light Clips
thingiverse
These are clips specifically designed for mounting Christmas Rope Lights on your roof, an American holiday tradition. The standard clips available in stores or included with lights often prove brittle, misaligned, or tailored for non-rope light applications. The longest clip is optimized to attach to a roof-ridge shingle and guide the rope along the ridge. A medium-length clip slides under the shingle at the edge of the roof, where its bumps help secure it in place. The smallest clip screws into the eave to hold the rope lights firmly in position. This design is similar to what comes with the lights but boasts a thicker build that resists cracking after prolonged exposure to sunlight. These clips require printing in ABS plastic due to PLA's tendency to soften and become brittle when exposed to direct sunlight. To ensure successful prints, I adjusted my Z-axis tuning by approximately 0.1mm to enhance ABS adhesion to the build plate. This adjustment results in a slight ridge or brim along one edge of the print, but it does not compromise functionality.
