A Unique Christmas Gift. A 3D printed holiday card model made from a flat-packed reindeer design can be easily assembled by snapping it out of the supportive frame. Designed for Christmas 2015, this innovative project combines professional printing with micro glue dots for attachment. The model requires precise printer settings to ensure a smooth assembly process. Tiny tolerances demand attention to detail, and users may need to adjust their printer settings accordingly. This kit includes STL files, which feature 3D renders used on the front of the printed cards, as well as vector graphics for the insides (including instructions). A bonus laser cutting version is also available due to popular request. Laser Cutting Instructions The design fits an A6 card front and uses 1.5mm plywood stock. Four layers are cut in different colors to denote specific styles: Red: Simple cuts that work with most laser settings for this material. Black: Dot mode using red settings, with a 0.3mm interval and 10mm dot length, allows the recipient to pop out elements and assemble the model. Blue: A light cut or etch, done quickly with low power, is used for drawing details and instructions. Green: Dot mode using red settings, with a 0.2mm interval and 50mm dot length, separates the cut cards from the cutting stock. Print Settings Brand: Ultimaker Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: Due to the model's thin design, it's recommended to use top and bottom layers for infill at 100%. I printed mine with different colored PLA. For the first layer, print slower than normal, as it's quite fiddly and you don't want parts lifting due to swift nozzle movement.
