<p>A Christmas lights fire fighting Helicopter. &nbsp; &nbsp;It features a few prints that are described in detail as per links below. &nbsp; A simple MDF cutout is spray painted, some LED strips placed around outline. &nbsp; &nbsp;The various components could be adapted to other stuff. &nbsp;Hopefully the build is self explanatory from the photos and files. &nbsp; Attached here are the load bearing holders and gears. &nbsp;The bearings used are basic skateboard bearings. &nbsp; You can buy the bearings very cheaply by purchasing a cheap skateboard which provides 8 bearings, washers and bushes. &nbsp; Other files and description can be found at:-</p><p>Main rotor slip ring here <a href="https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/103824-robust-2-pole-slip-ring-horizontal-mount">https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/103824-robust-2-pole-slip-ring-horizontal-mount</a></p><p>Tail rotor slip ring here <a href="https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/103779-2-pole-slip-ring-perpendicular-mount-light-duty">https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/103779-2-pole-slip-ring-perpendicular-mount-light-duty</a></p><p>Infinitely adjustable/expandable Timer cam switch here <a href="https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/104362-infinitely-adjustable-and-expandable-timer-switch">https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/104362-infinitely-adjustable-and-expandable-timer-switch</a></p><p>I used a small geared motor purchased from Jaycar for the tail rotor with 4mm shaft <a href="https://www.jaycar.com.au/70rpm-12vdc-reversible-gearhead-motor/p/YG2732">https://www.jaycar.com.au/70rpm-12vdc-reversible-gearhead-motor/p/YG2732</a></p><p>For the main rotor I used a larger geared rotor with 6mm shaft from Jaycar <a href="https://www.jaycar.com.au/55rpm-12vdc-reversible-gearhead-motor/p/YG2738">https://www.jaycar.com.au/55rpm-12vdc-reversible-gearhead-motor/p/YG2738</a></p><p>No doubt you can find cheaper equivalents at Aliexpress etc</p><p>For the other effects I used a standard store bought waterfall light system and switched the power on/off with the cam timer for the water bomb effect. &nbsp;The fire, &nbsp;water pump, rainbow lake and rotor lights by WS2812 LED strips and Arduino's is thanks to "Tweaking for all" <a href="https://www.tweaking4all.com/hardware/arduino/adruino-led-strip-effects/">https://www.tweaking4all.com/hardware/arduino/adruino-led-strip-effects/</a></p><p>Sharp eyed people will notice the rainbow effect is not changing on the rotor and this is because of too light gauge wire with a long run. &nbsp;Heavier gauge wire fixes this.</p><p>Quick video here&nbsp;</p><figure class="media"><oembed url="https://youtu.be/Erspeju-8B8"></oembed></figure>
