This holiday season, I decided to adorn my house with icicle lights. After investing three hours into creating 3D-printed clips for quick and easy gutter mounting, I was pleased with the finalized revision 3 design. I purchased 12' icicle lights from Sam's Club, featuring multiple wired strands. The designed clip enables pre-installation on the wire, followed by hanging it from the gutter. My gutter has a 0.7" wide lip on top and bends together. These clips work marvelously for my gutter and lights; however, I recommend testing them first to ensure compatibility with your setup. For printing, three available files include: 'IcicleLightClip_rev03.stl' (the clip by itself), 'IcicleLightClip_rev03_6x.stl' (six clips placed in the build area), and 'IcicleLightClip_rev03_6x_centered.stl' (clips centered on the platform). When printing, avoid a raft to lessen potential issues. If the test print proves successful, mass-produce the clips, pre-attach them to your light strand, and hang from the gutter for an efficient outdoor experience.
