Christmas Led Bulbs (ho ho ho!!)
thingiverse
I designed several bulbs that are used in those inexpensive LED lights that can be purchased anywhere these days. The walls of the bulbs were designed to be 0.8mm thick, allowing for effective printing with a 0.4mm nozzle - just two rounds per layer is necessary. In standard print resolution, my Flashforge printer takes 3.5 hours to print all five bulbs and fasteners. Each bulb features a 2mm hole at the top (or bottom) so that any rainwater will escape the bulb and not damage the LEDs if you're using them outdoors. Print one fastener per bulb - insert the LED light wire into the fastener in the created gap - then snap on the bulb itself following the trail pin on the bulb. You don't need to screw the bulb into the slot of the fastener - it sticks very well without doing this. The bell is pushing my printer to its limits, but it still allows for printing with no support needed. If you experience any issues, let me know and I can design it with a slightly less steep interior wall. I hope you find this a nice (and somewhat cheesy) addition to your LED lights. I wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
