Christmas Card

This is a simple two-color Christmas Tree card that I designed in Solidworks. TLDR: Follow the screenshots attached to see how to dual extrude this using ReplicatorG. It also serves as a good example of a simple dual extrusion. I've uploaded some screenshots and detailed the main steps to create your first dual extrusion using the Flashforge Creator PRO with the ReplicatorG slicing software. I found that the out-of-the-box ReplicatorG instructions with the Flashforge Creator PRO for dual extrusion quite confusing, so in this page, I've summarised the steps that I use. Since the ReplicatorG software is not very user-friendly, there's quite a bit of fiddling around to get the two colors of the dual extrusion to match up correctly. There are much better software products available which will allow for a much easier user interface for dual extruding (e.g FlashPrint). However, I find that ReplicatorG has the best print settings for the Flashforge Creator PRO 2016. Steps to Dual Extrude Using ReplicatorG: After opening ReplicatorG, go to GCode > Merge .stl for DualExtrusion. Browse the two .stl files that you want to dual extrude. One .stl file will be loaded for the left extruder and the other .stl will be loaded for the right extruder. Choose the left/right extruder depending on what colors you have loaded into your printer. After this, browse in the "Save As" box and then name your file something useful. I used "ChristmasCard.gcode". MAKE SURE YOU ADD .gcode TO THE END OF THE FILE NAME. Then click "Merge". Two pop-ups will open, these are the print settings for the left and right extruder. If you're using two different materials then these settings could be different. Otherwise, they should be the same. Choose your print settings and then click "Generate Gcode" for both the left and right extruders. Wait for the files to be generated. There will be 3 files generated in total. These are: * .gcode for left extruder * .gcode for right extruder * .gcode for the merged file After generating the .gcode files, upload the file to your printer as you would with any other print from this window. Your printer should automatically switch between the left and right extruder as defined by the two original .stl files.
