Compare the relief to a similar one that includes Virgin Mary and features the Antwerp guild mark on its base, showing Joseph of Arimathea dressed similarly with a sloping background, sold in these rooms as part of the Gutzwiller Collection on 12 December 1996, lot 41. The drapery's heavy folds and sharp 'V' shapes are closely matched to an Antwerp Mary Magdalen at Museum Catharijneconvent, Utrecht (inv.no. ABM bh323).
