Human beings built dwellings known as chozos, which served as shelters for shepherds in the villages surrounding the Serra do Suído mountain range that divides the provinces of Pontevedra and Ourense. These structures were the main components of a complex made up of small enclosures and enclosed spaces where animals could be controlled and protected. Their use dates back to the Middle Ages.
