Chord Wheel

Chord Wheel

thingiverse

This is an innovative tool created to illustrate the notes within any chord. The foundation features every note of a chromatic scale, with various versions that can be stacked on top. These overlays cover each note not part of a defined harmony or chord. Currently paired with the bass wheel is one for a major triad. By rotating this wheel, students can visualize which notes make up a major triad starting from any given note. This project is still in development and I aim to complete it shortly. The tool is primarily designed for set theory composition. I have successfully created a wheel featuring wedges that can be added or removed to reveal or conceal each interval. Further wheels for other common chords are also on the agenda. An openSCAD program to generate these wheels is currently in progress.
