Chopped Nanna-Sin Ziggurat
thingiverse
A fellow maker asked me to print a customized version of Nanna-Sin Ziggurat by PirateMaster11, available on Thingiverse under http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1457174. I tweaked the design slightly, downsized it and broke it down into sections to enable large-scale printing. Snapshots were taken with a humble potato camera – apologies for the lack of high-quality images! The decorative gargoyle component isn't present in this print, as its primary purpose is aesthetic. Print Settings: Printer: Kossel XL Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Notes: With current settings (two perimeters, two floor layers and four top layers), the print will consume approximately 250 meters of 1.75mm filament. Three perimeters might be a better choice for the stairs. How I Designed This: I modified Nanna-Sin Ziggurat using Blender to create this customized version: 1) Removed the base 2) Scaled down the model, reducing the base of the main building from 22x22cm to 22x22cm (scaled values: X = 0.675, Y = 0.645, Z = 0.660). The total printed size is approximately 33x22x11 cm. 3) Flattened the walls to eliminate any medieval flair 4) Split the model into six to seven pieces (depending on whether you print the front yard in one or two sections) 5) Drilled 2mm holes on matching pairs for easy assembly
