Meet Snapply, the amazing, state-of-the-art, Lego-enhanced, fully-constructed, completely-functional, multi-purpose robot alligator! It features 20 precise points of articulation. The legs move freely, the feet rotate effortlessly, body flexes smoothly, tail pivots and swings with ease, head tilts and turns, mouth opens wide, and eyes even swivel. Lego Compatible. Its rear section boasts a pair of sturdy 2x6 sets of studs, perfect for safely securing passengers and cargo. One Plate-One Print Snapply prints neatly folded up so that he can fit on even the smallest print beds. But once he climbs off the platform, he expands to an impressive 10 inches from snout to tail. Why not print one today? Edit - 9/26/14 I uploaded a revised STL with enhanced ankles so the feet move more smoothly and are less likely to detach. Edit - 10/20/14 Uploaded another version with improved joints for greater flexibility, speed, and strength. Also adds a highly flexible tail with extra Lego studs for creative accessorization. Check out the video https://youtu.be/_-foc1dz_Tc Instructions Assemble nothing! Just print, let him cool completely, then remove any excess support material. Be cautious, as this process can be lengthy and delicate. To dislodge support material from the joints, carefully bend the joint until it starts to crumble away. Ensure that he is completely cooled beforehand; otherwise, the parts might warp or break. After you move the joint a few times, all the little pieces will come out easily. Initially, his mouth may be jammed shut. Gently insert a small screwdriver and pry it open carefully without breaking any teeth. When trying to get the eyes to rotate for the first time, a slight wiggling with pliers might help. There could also be a tough-to-remove layer of support material on the roof of his mouth. Carefully place an exacto knife between his teeth, twist it slightly, and remove the offending layer.
