If you're a fan of chocolate, you can take home the key molecule to wear as a pendant around your neck. The proper name of this 'chocolate molecule' is theobromine, derived from the botanical name of the cacao tree. In Latin, the genus name for the cacao tree translates to 'food of the gods'. Other chemical names for theobromine include 3,7-Dimethylxanthine, Diurobromine, Teobromin and numerous others. The molecular formula is C7H8N4O2, making it remarkably similar in composition to caffeine. This model showcases a ball-and-stick representation of the molecule. Unfortunately, STL files are monochrome, but most desktop printers also print in black and white. With some additional post-processing using paint, you can enhance the visual appeal if desired. To wear your chocolate molecule as a pendant, simply attach a chain to two of its long bonds, making sure it's secure around your neck.
