Erethizon dorsatum - ChM CM987\nThe beaver is not the only rodent that holds a top spot in North America, the porcupine takes second place. Porcupines dine on a wide variety of vegetation such as roots, berries, seeds and plant stems etc. Their diet shifts to pine cones and tree bark during the cold winter months.
