Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a 1968 British musical comedy film directed by Ken Hughes and produced by Albert R. Broccoli. The screenplay was written by Roald Dahl, who also wrote the book of the same name. The movie stars Dick Van Dyke as Caractacus Potts, a kind-hearted inventor who builds an incredible car called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. This fantastical vehicle has wings that allow it to fly and a mind of its own, often getting them into humorous misadventures. Alongside Potts are his children, Jemima (Heidi Anne Gordon) and Simeon (Adrian Hall), as well as Truly Scrumptious (Sally Ann Howes), the sweet and charming girl next door who becomes Jemima's friend.
