Chisel with Polished Bit, XCB-105-1924, 400 BCE-100 CE. XCB-105 Adamagan, the Aleut name for a place of walrus hunters, sits proudly atop Morzhovoi Bay on Alaska's western Peninsula. This massive village is home to multiple occupations, and when it was inhabited from 400 BCE to 100 CE, it boasted an impressive estimated population of 1000 people. Additionally, limited occupations have been dated to 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE. Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts are showcased as a direct result of the groundbreaking research conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator for this endeavor. These artifacts were meticulously scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Subsequent processing was completed in Geomagic or Polyworks, with 2-8 photos used to achieve texture in Geomagic Wrap. The original digitizing work was carried out at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing and publication were finalized at Global Digital Heritage.
