Chiquita also helps carry the children to school as well as carrying firewood and does agricultural work around the farm. She is involved in the World Horse Welfare project and receives hoof care, vaccinations and worming. As her owners receive education about her care, she also benefits from the equipment fitting lessons and a care pack with new saddle pads. The master sculpture itself was created by acclaimed artist Judy Boyt based on the story of Lucas, a frozen and abandoned foal who was rescued by World Horse Welfare and has flourished into a beautiful sport horse.
