I purchased a Craftsman Planer several months ago, and although it functioned properly at first, it developed some minor problems. Most of the issues were relatively easy to resolve, leaving only one final task: obtaining a replacement chip blower. After conducting research, I discovered a company that claimed to offer an exact replica of the original component; however, upon closer inspection, this assertion proved to be incorrect. Utilizing the broken part as a reference point, I created a 3D model of the replacement chip blower, but with one notable distinction - it features four fins instead of the standard six. The printing process required approximately 9.5 hours at 100% infill density. Fortunately, the new component installed without any issues and withstood its first test run without disintegrating. My next step will be to put the planer through its paces by running various boards through it to assess its performance under heavy use, particularly in terms of chip management. The model I am working with is a Craftsman 13-Surface Planer (Model Number: 351-217430), which can be viewed in detail at http://www.jedidiahstolzfus.com/craftsman-13-surface-planer-351-217430/.
