Chinese zodiac pentominoes
cults3d
This is a set of intricately designed pentominoes, each one inspired by the 12 animals that make up the Chinese zodiac. These unique designs are based on originals created by Japanese schoolteacher Sabu Oguro and originally published in Jerry Slocum and Jack Botermans' book Puzzles Old & New: How to Make and Solve Them on page 40 of its 1986 edition. Each part is carefully printed using a MakerBot, while photographs were taken by Becky Stern. On Friday, December 18, at 10 AM PST, viewers can watch Becky live as she prints some of these pieces on her Ustream channel located at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sternlab
