Chinese Soup Spoon
thingiverse
Originally crafted from porcelain, this traditional spoon design is now widely produced in plastic. It was created as part of artist Bronwyn Holloway-Smith and Vik Olliver's art project series "Ghosts in the form of gifts," commissioned by Massey University Wellington, New Zealand in 2009. The series won the 2010 Award for Open Source in the Arts (NZ). These objects, imagined as lost or misregistered artifacts from the Museum of New Zealand's former building, were designed through drawing, digital rendering, and RepRap printing. They are available under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license for educational use, and can be found on Bronwyn's website. Search "Ghosts in the form of gifts" to explore other pieces in this unique series.
