A striking bust of a Chinese man, who may have been an emperor, proudly stands outside the Philological faculty building of St. Petersburg's State University. In the 1990s, the Faculty of Asian and African Studies continued its long-standing sinological tradition while also introducing sinology courses at the Faculty of Philosophy. Furthermore, programs in Chinese studies have recently been established at both the School of International Relations and the Faculty of Law.
