A few years ago, I acquired a qiantong cup and recently discovered from a colleague that my use of this temple artifact was indeed incorrect. Before I shake the cup to retrieve a numbered stick, which would reveal my fortune, I must first toss these pair of crescent moon shaped 'dice' that allow the gods to decide whether or not they will even consider my prayers today. In Taiwanese, they are known as 'bwah-bwei' and in Mandarin, the characters are 'jiao bei'. I created one design, printed it twice, and now it works perfectly. If you ever find yourself at a crossroads and forget to bring your eight ball or any other tool that helps make decisions for you, then print out a couple of these, grab some joss sticks, and figure things out for yourself. It's all good fun. I also have another thing that fits in with the Chinese vibe: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1200841 Here is an article on Wikipedia with almost everything you need to know about them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiaobei If this was helpful, please share and be sure to check out my other submissions, which are as varied as they are numerous: http://www.thingiverse.com/3E8/designs And if the spirit moves you, feel free to donate a bitcoin or two here: 1Py3TUeR8noBN2giHyFV1GfB6x3Kh2WEVv Enjoy!
