China, officially known as the People's Republic of China, is a large, unitary sovereign state in East Asia and the world's most populous nation with approximately 1.404 billion people. Covering around 9,600,000 square kilometers, it ranks third or fourth globally concerning total area. With more neighbor countries than any other nation, China is governed by the Communist Party of China and has authority over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau. Tracing back to its roots in the fertile Yellow River basin on North China Plain, China was home to one of the world's earliest civilizations. Its political system initially revolved around hereditary monarchies or dynasties, starting with the Xia dynasty in the 21st century BCE. Since then, China has expanded, disintegrated, and reunified repeatedly. The Qin dynasty united core China in the 3rd century BCE, followed by the Han dynasty that witnessed remarkable advancements in technology, agriculture, and medicine, including inventions of papermaking, compass, gunpowder, and printing during the Tang dynasty. However, the last dynastic rule ended in 1912 with the Xinhai Revolution, leading to a republic replacing the Qing dynasty. The Chinese Civil War resulted in division in 1949; the Communist Party of China established the People's Republic of China on the mainland while the losing Kuomintang retreated to Taiwan, an unresolved dispute till today. This digital model features China with color-coded regions and borders with neighboring countries such as Cambodia, India, Mongolia, Myanmar, Russia, and Vietnam. The model comprises approximately 117,471 polygons, made using 3 and 4-point polygons, with different colors for region separation. It includes parts representing various regions in the country and an mtl file for colorization by your software program. While the model has basic UV mapping, it does not include textures.
