China Bird Scan
thingiverse
Here is a detailed scan of a small, intricately designed china bird that has been significantly downsized through polygon reduction techniques. This scan was captured using my Einscan-S SLS Scanner, which relies on a turntable for optimal results. Although the level of detail in this scan is exceptional, it did come at a cost - the original file size was an enormous 417 megabytes! To mitigate this issue, I chose to print the bird using my Prusa i3 with White PLA material. After re-orienting the model and carefully trimming off some excess material from the bottom, I was able to achieve a stable base that allows the bird to sit flat on its surface. For those interested in scanning or printing their own parts, I recommend checking out 3D Print Zhub at www.3dprintzhub.com.
