Chimera / Cyclops Prusa i3 mount (with print fans and proximity sensor supports)
thingiverse
Human: I drew support from scratch but got inspiration from inventor's fantastic design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:661185. Although inventor later reworked it into an even better design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1216890, this one is pretty cool too. If you don't need a fan for printing or a proximity sensor, you should use his. I used to own an e3dv6 and while transitioning to Chimera I found many simple designs with either a proximity sensor or fans for the print but not both. Inventor had published his rework before me so I probably wouldn't have changed anything if he'd done it first. The source was made in FreeCAD, so I'm also sharing the code if you need to make any changes. The main difficulty in the original designs was the fact that the bowden tube fittings were located down below which made them hard to remove. To solve this issue, I designed a fitting adapter which is shown in the pictures and available for download as an STL file or from my FreeCAD source code. You'll notice side slots in the design - those are meant for using security bowden clips that I also share on thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:668232). Those clips work great but I needed to modify them because they wouldn't fit this design. Some credit goes out to WheelbarrowTech who came up with the idea for these new clips which are necessary since you need to push down the bowden tube when inserting it into its clip while making sure that everything is securely in place. The fan grids used in my project were made at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:735449 and adjusted to fit my printer, while the STL of the fan duct was obtained from here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:510957 but got a tiny tweak for e3dv6 print bed mounts because I only needed slight adjustments. Let me know if you have any questions.
