Chimera-Cyclops E3d Carriage

Chimera-Cyclops E3d Carriage

thingiverse

This is a custom carriage designed for the E3d's Chimera/Cyclops, which I conceptualized but haven't tested yet. It was made with the Vulcanus Max CoreXY 3D printer in mind, but it may also be suitable for other printers. The distance between the LM10UU's is 50mm center to center. My plan is to purchase E3d's dual extruder solution and then print this assembly. Since I use an Inductive Proximity Sensor LJ18A3-8-ZBX, I wanted the carriage to be compact, modular, and extremely rigid at the same time. The sensor screws into the bottom part of the carriage. To assemble the carriage, you will need 4 zipties, 5 x M3 screws on top, and 2 x M3 screws on the back of the heatblock. Each belt of the CoreXY kinematics can be tightened individually. The Solidworks and STL files are available for download. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please leave a comment so we can improve it further.
